Communications Poll

We’ve already made some changes to the way we communicate with the pack, and are planning some more.

We would like to know how you feel about these. Please take a few minutes and take our poll so we can better understand your ideas:

[events_list limit=1 category=8]

We are looking for new members who can help us lead the pack and steer its direction.

We especially need the help of parents of younger Scouts. This year we will lose 2/3 of our committee members as their sons graduate from Cub Scouting.

We have many roles available that need to be filled including:

  • Den and Pack Leaders
  • Event Coordinators
  • Banquet and Party Organizers
  • Fundraising Assistants
  • Membership, Advancement, and Program Coordinators

You can help make your pack better for your boys!

Pinewood Derby 2011

Monday April 4, 2011 saw the annual running of the Pack 151 Pinewood derby.

Twenty nine cars were entered into the race. We’ll be posting the full results when we get them from race Grand Marshall, Charlie Vanderslice. For now, enjoy the video of the event filmed by Larry Segal.

Phillies Scout Night 2011

22 Scouts and their families from Pack 151 endured the bitter cold and wind in the 300 level of Citizens Bank Park at the Phillies annual Scout night last night. Roy Oswalt pitched the 8-5 win against the Pirates.

Before the game, the boys of Pack 151 were part of a 9,000-strong parade of area Scouts that paraded around the field pre-game. The group was so large, the first pitch was delayed by 20 minutes. While Pack 151 was on the field, first baseman Ryan Howard ran right through the middle of our group as we passed the Phillies dugout. As we left the field, our boys were projected 76 feet tall on the largest scoreboard screen in baseball.

If you have any good photos, please log in and post them. If you don’t yet have a login, contact us, and we’ll get you signed up if you are a pack family in good standing.

Thanks to Deb Walter for her connections to get us such great seats!

We’re already planning for Phillies Scout Night 2012. The Wilmington Blue Rocks and Lancaster Barnstormers have their Scout nights (with a sleepover option) on August 12. Watch the events page for more information.

Cub Pack 151 Featured in the Patch

Patch LogoCub Pack 151’s winter camping trip was featured in this week’s Marple Newtown Patch. It captures the spirit of the event like the author was there, which of course she was.

If you haven’t read the article yet, please check it out and tell your friends. Bretany is currently the #3 “Mom’s Corner” writer on the Patch network nationwide. We’d like to see her get to #1.

Bretany will be doing another story in the fall, at the membership time featuring Pack 151. If you have any good stories or photos that she can include, drop her a line, or upload them on the site.
