Sunday, February 3, 2013 will be our annual, Archdiocesan Scout Sunday observance. Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul, 18th Street and Benjamin Franklin Parkway, will begin at 2:00 PM. Participation in this scouting observance is an excellent example of “duty to God” as well as an active celebration of our common faith as Catholic Scouts. On behalf of the Archdiocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting, I am pleased to cordially invite your whole Scouting Unit to participate in the Scout Sunday Mass.
On this festive occasion celebrating Faith and Scouting, all Scouting emblems will be presented, including adult and unit emblems. The list of adult and unit recipients will be developed by our committee. The names of all recipients will be listed in the Mass booklet. All units are still encouraged to conduct appropriate celebrations in their own parishes. Note that no emblems will be released prior to the Scout Sunday Celebration.
