Camping at Rodney with Troop 468

Ring in the New Year in style at Del-Mar-Va Council’s Rodney Scout Reservation on the Chesapeake.

Camp Rodney is in North East Maryland, just over an hour’s drive from Broomall. It is situated on the bluffs of the Chesapeake bay overlooking Aberdeen Proving Ground.

Troop 468 has again invited us to their January campout. Activities last year included:

• Scout skills training
• Hiking
• Map & Compass Training
• Games

We’ll be staying with the troop in the Accomac and Wicomico lodges. Both lodges have wood-stove heaters and bunks with mattresses. There is running water inside each lodge, however toilet facilities are latrines a short distance from the lodge.

Because of the potential for cold weather and the outdoor plumbing, we recommend this trip for experienced campers only.
